Prezi Paper

Prezi was established in 2009 by co-founders Adam Somlai-Fischer, Peter Halacsy and Peter Arvai. Prezi is a predominantly U.S.software company that produces a cloud based presentation software that can be used in order to present ideas on a virtual canvas. Prezi uses a zooming user interface that allows users to zoom in and out of their presentation media. This zooming user interface also allows people to display and navigate through information within a 2.5D or parallax 3D on the z- axis.

Prezi was created in order to replace ordinary slide based presentations. Today the project is assisted by Sunstone Capital. The Prezi editors employ common tool palettes which allow users to pan zoom, size, rotate, or edit an object. The user operates Prezi by placing objects on a canvas and by navigating between videos, images, texts and other presentation media. Users group presentation media together in a single presentation object through the use of frames. Prezi also utilizes a collaborator function that allows multiple people to use their Prezi accounts to edit and create the same project. This function is very useful because it allows people in all different locations to be involved and to stay in touch with one another.

Prezi has proven to be very useful to in many different areas. It can be used by students to create projects for classes or by companies that use it for business ventures. It is valued by businesses because the collaborator function is very useful when it comes to staying connected to other companies when collaborating together on the same project.

Google Docs and Google Drive

In our world today, technology is becoming heavily relied upon for completing everyday tasks such as writing papers or saving work for school or businesses.Google has showed its value in these areas with Google Docs/ Google Drive. Google docs was first introduced on January 13, 2010. Google Docs combines the features of Writely and Spreadsheets with a presentation program incorporating technology designed by Tonic Systems. Writely was a web based word processor that was created by the software company, Upstartle and was released in August 2005. Ever since Google Docs first release, it has increased its storage from 1GB to 15GB. Google Drive on the other hand, is an extension of Google Docs and was launched April 24, 2012.
Google Docs is used by many and is compatible with just about any platform. Even though Google Docs is very useful, it has its problems that may prove to be annoying. For examples, the cursor is very laggy and takes some getting used to. It is also not wise to store all of your documents in one place because if google docs experiences problems then all of your document will be affected.

But Google Docs has many positives that I use daily. Google Docs is very useful because it allows me to access all of my unfinished and finished documents at home without a flash drive. This is useful because it does not require me to carry a flash drive which could possibly be lost or stolen. Knowing that all of your documents can be accessed anywhere where there is a computer. This application can be useful to businesses and students all around the world.

Facebook Response

In our world today, technology is becoming more and more prominent throughout the world. A technology that is spreading across the globe is that of social media. Social media includes websites such as Facebook and Myspace. Facebook was founded in February 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg and his college roommates. The original intention for the website was create a social media site that would allow students at Harvard University to become acquainted at the beginning of the school year. The site was originally limited to Harvard students, but then eventually became open to students in Ivy League colleges from Boston to Stanford. Facebook then eventually spread around the world and was made available to everybody in the world claiming to be thirteen years of age.
Facebook now has around 1,110,000,000 monthly active users and the monthly time spent by these users on Facebook is around seven billion minutes. Facebook has increased the level of communication for the better around the world and is useful because it connects people around the world and allows for information to be spread. People use Facebook for recreational purposes to stay in touch with friends and family. But Facebook can also from a business standpoint in order to make connections with possible clients or other business opportunities. Facebook is also useful to businesses for advertising.
Even though Facebook has many positives it also can pose threats to people. This is because once someone puts a picture or post on Facebook it can be viewed by all the people you are friends with and it is very hard to get it back. It also affects people in their college application process and possibly their job hunt process. This is because colleges and future employers have the ability to view your profile and if you have something posted that you don’t want them to see, it could mean that you are not getting into that college or getting that job.
Even though social media such as Facebook are becoming more and more popular and have many advantages, they also have possible dangers that could potentially affect you later in life. It is imperative that people use social media to their advantage and not to their disadvantage.

Linkedin
In a world where technology is expanding, people are looking for ways to utilize it and incorporate it into their daily lives. Linkedin is a website similar to Facebook; it allows for its users to create their own profiles that they can use to promote their business or themselves. The founder and CEO of Linkedin is Jeff Weiner. Jeff Weiner was previously an executive at Yahoo.com. Linkedin helps its users find connections which in turn creates more business for its users. The website was founded in the December of 2002 and was launched on May 15 in 2003. In 2013, Linkedin reported to have acquired over 225 million users in over 200 countries and different territories around the world.
Linkedin has become a necessity to many different people and businesses all over the world and continues to perform its tasks. It creates connections between different businesses all around the world, which in turn has the ability to create jobs for many people.

Even though Linkedin has proved to be a very resourceful websites with many positive qualities that allows for growth of economies and businesses, it may have downfalls. It has been argued that Linkedin has flaws such as connections it presents. Not all people will accept the request possibly due to competition. It has also been said that security of the network can be potentially threatening because if someone were to move to another company all of the contacts would go with that person.

I personally feel that Linkedin is a good website for different companies and small businesses because it allows for connections to be made. It also utilizes the current technology that the world is becoming reliant on.

Twitter Paper

In a world where technology is increasing at a dramatic rate, people are becoming more inclined to using the internet as a form of communication. The internet, if you know it or not, is becoming more involved in everything we do; we use it for information, communication research, and for writing our own work etc. Even though the internet is very useful for many different things, many people don’t realize the underlying dangers that go along with it. People don’t understand that when you post something on the internet it is very hard to get back. This is because people don’t take into account that when a post is sent out, it is able to be viewed by everyone and anyone and even if you delete it there is the possibility that someone took a picture of your post or picture. Twitter also has its advantages as well. Twitter allows people to communicate in a unique way with their peers; it is also good for advertising specific products businesses, etc.

Over the period of time that twitter has flourished, it has proved its worth to many businesses and companies. It has showed its worth to them mainly through advertising and presenting information to the public. Companies used twitter by creating an account and posting on their page information about certain events or products that their followers on twitter were then able to see.

Twitter has also become very popular among the public for recreational purposes and entertainment. People have become infatuated with the concept of social media. For the average person, twitter is a place where they can write about the current events in their lives for their friends to see. People can also follow others on twitter as well.

Twitter is also becoming very popular among the news and informational realm. Now different TV networks have their own twitters and they use them to post about the current events happening in the world such as weather, government news, national news, as well as news happening all around the world. These great advances in communication allow people around the world to be informed of a current event almost as soon as it happens.

I personally feel that twitter is advancement in our society that allows for great things but also has its risks. This is because people become unaware of how their posts could affect them later on in life.  Sources: http://www.politico.com/story/2013/10/for-flacks-twittersrisksrewards-98050.html ,  http://www.ehow.com/list_6026451_advantages-disadvantages-twitter.html
