Google Docs and Google Drive
In our world today, technology is becoming heavily relied upon for completing everyday tasks such as writing papers or saving work for school or businesses.Google has showed its value in these areas with Google Docs/ Google Drive. Google docs was first introduced on January 13, 2010. Google Docs combines the features of Writely and Spreadsheets with a presentation program incorporating technology designed by Tonic Systems. Writely was a web based word processor that was created by the software company, Upstartle and was released in August 2005. Ever since Google Docs first release, it has increased its storage from 1GB to 15GB. Google Drive on the other hand, is an extension of Google Docs and was launched April 24, 2012.
Google Docs is used by many and is compatible with just about any platform. Even though Google Docs is very useful, it has its problems that may prove to be annoying. For examples, the cursor is very laggy and takes some getting used to. It is also not wise to store all of your documents in one place because if google docs experiences problems then all of your document will be affected.
But Google Docs has many positives that I use daily. Google Docs is very useful because it allows me to access all of my unfinished and finished documents at home without a flash drive. This is useful because it does not require me to carry a flash drive which could possibly be lost or stolen. Knowing that all of your documents can be accessed anywhere where there is a computer. This application can be useful to businesses and students all around the world.
